Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ: Cosmetic Dentistry
What is the process of obtaining veneers?
Treatment plans with veneers include approximately two to three visits to the office, over the span of a few weeks. At Aspire Advanced Dentistry, treatment includes taking digital scans of your natural teeth, slightly shaving down teeth, preforming a digital smile try in, and making any additional adjustments before and after placement of the veneers. Prices are dependent on each treatment plan.
What types of dentures are there?
Dentures are designed for each patient's needs and situations. At Aspire Advanced Dentistry we digitally design dentures. These types include partial dentures, complete dentures, implant supported overdentures and fixed retained or screwed in dentures.
I am new to wearing dentures, what can I expect from them?
Initial dentures may feel strange or unstable for the first couple of weeks as the mouth muscles adapt to holding them in place. It's common to experience some soreness or irritation during the initial weeks. Increased saliva production is also a typical response when individuals first start wearing dentures. Nevertheless, as the mouth adjusts, these issues will gradually resolve. Many individuals need to learn how to properly use their dentures, so it can take some time to acclimate. Eventually, a person should be capable of eating relatively normally. However, it generally requires more time to feel comfortable with sticky or hard foods. At Aspire Advanced Dentistry, we digitally make two sets of interim dentures to help with these adjustments.
How do I care for my dentures?
Daily cleaning of dentures are required, typically as if you would clean natural teeth. This includes morning and night cleaning of the denture, your gums, and tongue. It is recommended that you use a mild soap, or liquid denture cleanser with a soft toothbrush. Remove any denture adhesive before doing so. At aspire Advanced Dentistry, you will receive an ultrasonic cleaning unit with at the day of denture delivery to make sure your denture stays clean with a minimum effort. You just immerse your denture in the unit and turn it on, after 5 minutes your denture is clean.
How does teeth zoom whitening work?
The method utilizes a unique lamp known as either a Zoom light or Zoom laser, paired with a whitening gel that contains hydrogen peroxide. The gel, which is applied to your teeth, has a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide. When the peroxide interacts with the bright light produced by the lamp, it breaks down. This process then dissolves a thin layer on the enamel and releases oxygen into the teeth. The released oxygen aids in removing and eliminating established tooth discoloration. This low-risk procedure stands out as one of the top options for teeth whitening available.
Is zoom teeth whitening safe and painless?
Zoom whitening is typically not regarded as painful, although some individuals may notice temporary sensitivity during and after the treatment. When carried out by a trained dental expert, Zoom whitening is a secure and efficient method for obtaining a brighter smile. At Aspire Advanced Dentistry, we break the appointment to 15 minute sessions and between those session, the tooth sensitivity and your comfort will be evaluated.
